Uncorked @ San Francisco: Just because it’s Monday doesn’t mean it’s too early to think about all the wine you want to drink on Saturday. The Third Annual Uncorked Festival returns to San Francisco this Saturday, June 16, with proceeds benefitting the Yellow Bike Project. The event is held at the Metreon, so head up to the San Francisco Caltrain Station, take a walk in this lovely June weather, and remember that the wine bucket is not for drinking.
Antiques @ Half Moon Bay: Antique shows allow us to reach through the ages to find items that best express ourselves (so if anyone wants to express themselves by wearing JNCO jeans again, please hit me up on eBay). This weekend, the IDES Hall in Half Moon Bay hosts the 2018 Half Moon Bay Summer Antiques & Collectables Show and Sale, giving attendees the opportunity to find the exact retro look they’ve always wanted. Located near the terminus of SamTrans Routes 17, 18 and 294, this seems like a great excuse to get out on the coastside and soak up some charm.
Bikes Board First Extension: After the success of the Bikes Board First Pilot Program, Caltrain is extending it to three additional stations. Morning riders going south from the 22nd Street Station or north from Hillsdale and Sunnyvale Stations will now be expected to allow riders with bikes to board the bike cars first. On average, this policy has shaved minutes off of boarding times, resulting in faster service throughout the system. Bikeless riders can still board the passenger cars without causing a traffic jam in the vestibule.
Express Bus Study: SamTrans is currently studying the possibility of launching express bus service on highways throughout San Mateo County. As a part of this effort, SamTrans is hosting community events in order to gather more opinions about where this service is most needed. SamTrans is hosting a Community Open House this Wednesady, June 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at its headquarters at 1250 San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos (just a block from the San Carlos Caltrain Station).
