Foster City will be the place to be this weekend for its cityFEST gathering, and SamTrans is the best choice to travel to the family-friendly event.

SamTrans Routes 251 and 256 both serve Foster City on weekdays and Saturdays. As a result of the festival, which begins on Friday and lasts through Sunday, passengers on Routes 251 and 256 will experience minor detours.

In the westbound direction, Route 256 will detour off Foster City Boulevard to Bounty Drive and then Shell Boulevard before returning to Beach Park. In the eastbound direction, Route 251 will detour off Shell Boulevard onto Bounty Boulevard and then Foster City Boulevard. Those redirections will last from 9 a.m.  Thursday, June 2, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 6.

Formerly known as the Foster City Arts and Wine Festival, the cityFEST is expected to draw some 40,000 attendees, who will be able to enjoy carnival rides, food and drink stands. There will also be more than 175 booths from local vendors and live music.

For help planning a trip to the event, attendees can call the Customer Service Center at 1-800-660-4287 or visit www.samtrans.com.
