The Center for the Performing Arts is easily accessible via public transportation, especially if you’re hoping to avoid weekday evening rush hour traffic and parking fees. Attendees can either take Caltrain to the San Jose Diridon Station and walk 15 minutes to the theatre, or connect to VTA for service to the Convention Center light rail station just across the street. Community Day: Lunar New Year @ San Jose Museum of Art

The Museum of Art is kicking off the Year of the Pig with a free community day on Saturday, February 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature artmaking activities, cultural demonstrations and live performances.

To get there via public transit, take Caltrain down to the San Jose Diridon Station, then either walk about 15 minutes or take VTA to the Convention Center light rail station about a block away from the museum. Check weekend Caltrain and VTA schedules to plan your trip.

Back-to-Back Sharks @ SAP Center

The San Jose Sharks are hosting Washington and Vancouver on February 14 and 16 at SAP Center. The Washington game on Thursday starts at 7:30 p.m. while Saturday’s face-off against Vancouver begins at 7 p.m.

As always, hockey fans are encouraged to take Caltrain to San Jose Diridon for the game so as to avoid parking costs and traffic. Be sure to check the latest weekday and weekend train schedules to plan your travel.

The last train on Weekdays and Saturdays departs San Jose Diridon station at 10:30 p.m. Should the game run long or go into overtime, the train will depart 15 minutes right after the game ends but will departs no later than 10:45 p.m. The train makes all regular local stops. Trains will stop at the Broadway and Atherton stations on weekends only. Please be advised that alcoholic beverages are prohibited on trains after 9 p.m.

Caltrain, SamTrans to Adjust Schedules for Presidents Day Holiday

Caltrain will operate a modified schedule on Presidents Day, Monday, February 18, with 36 trains running between San Francisco and San Jose, including two bullet trains and four limited service trains in both directions. The modified schedule also offers one round-trip train from Gilroy to San Francisco. In addition, the Tamien/San Jose Diridon shuttle will operate a modified schedule with revised shuttle connections.

SamTrans will operate a regular, non-school day service schedule on Presidents Day, Monday, February 18.
