Dog Show @ Cow Palace: The fact that humans were able to take wolves and turn them into hundreds of different breeds of dogs that all love us is an amazing feat of survival, science and passion. Where better to celebrate this accomplishment than at the Golden Gate Kennel Club Dog Show, this weekend, January 26 and 27? Tickets are still available for anyone that wants to watch man’s best friend strut their stuff, and getting to the Cow Palace is easy, with the Muni 8 being a short walk from the Bayshore Caltrain Station. Go get your wag on.

NHL All-Star Weekend @ SAP Center: Bay Area hockey fans are a dedicated bunch, as ice rinks do not spontaneously come into existence during winter months. But the NHL has decided to smile upon us, as San Jose hosts the NHL All-Star Weekend this Friday and Saturday, January 25 and 26. Whether you’re looking for Friday’s All-Star Skills Competition, Saturday’s All-Star Game or just a chance to get a selfie with your favorite toothless athlete, Caltrain is on hand to deliver you to the SAP Center’s doorstep, located a short walk from the San Jose Diridon Station.

BART of the Future @ Glen Park: Transit nerds, rejoice! BART is offering a tour of some of its stations, focusing both on their design and construction, as well as some of the system’s history. Tickets are available for this weekend, January 26 and 27, so if you want to wow your friends with public transit trivia (and if you don’t, why are you reading this?) this is the place to be. Getting to Glen Park is a cinch if you transfer from Caltrain to BART at the Millbrae Transit Center.
