New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show @ in San Francisco Waterfront

One of San Francisco’s biggest celebrations of the year is back. The New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show is set to put on a beautiful display to ring in the New Year along the waterfront near the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge. The 15-20 minute show begins at 11:59 p.m. and SFTourismTips.com recommends grabbing a seat outside as early as 7 p.m. To avoid the hassle of traffic and parking, we recommend taking Caltrain into the San Francisco station (see article below for information about FREE SamTrans and Caltrain New Year’s Eve service).

Winterfest @ Great America in Santa Clara

A Bay Area holiday tradition is wrapping up for the season next week. Great America’s Winterfest, wherein the amusement park is transformed into a winter wonderland equipped with ice skating, rides, live shows and holiday lights, will be open through December 31. As always, if you’re traveling to Great America from San Francisco or the Peninsula, Caltrain and VTA can help get you there. Take Caltrain to the Mountain View station and transfer onto a Winchester-bound VTA light rail for service to the Great America station. Check Caltrain’s latest schedule to plan your travel to the event.

SamTrans and Caltrain Offer Free Rides for New Year’s Eve

Caltrain and SamTrans will provide FREE service after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 until end of service. Caltrain will operate special event service on December 31 to accommodate the San Francisco fireworks show in addition to regular weekday service. SamTrans will provide standard weekday service on December 31 and standard Sunday service on January 1.
