Fog Fest @ Pacifica: Living in Pacifica means coming to terms with the fog; it was there before you, and will continue to roll in long after you’ve gone. One way of coping is the Pacific Coast Fog Fest, a 32-year-old celebration of coastside pride held this weekend, September 29 and 30. Attendees will find a parade and marching band competition, as well as food, drink, arts and crafts, live music and fun for all ages. Get out there by taking the SamTrans 17, 110, 112 or 118, (the last three of which connect with BART) and remember to dress warmer than one normally does in September.

Salsa Festival @ Redwood City: Redwood City is a hot place to be this Saturday, September 29, as the 11th Annual Redwood City Salsa Festival is upon us. Courthouse Square will be echoing with Latin music as festival goers attend a tequila tasting, make art projects, jump in bounce houses and, most importantly, eat. All this action takes place right next to the Redwood City Caltrain Station, so make sure you take a trip.

Join our Citizens Advisory Committees: Here at the San Mateo County Transit District, we’re always working to make sure that we’re serving the needs of our riders as best we can. One of the ways we do that is with our Citizens Advisory Committees, which advise our boards of directors and work with staff to make sure that the public’s needs are met. If this sounds like your cup of tea, go to www.samtrans.com/cac for SamTrans and www.caltrain.com/cac or Caltrain and send us an application (due Wednesday, October 3, for SamTrans, and Thursday, October 4, for Caltrain.) And when you get there, remember to tell everyone that our blog is written by intelligent, hard-working and clearly very handsome people.
