SamTrans on Your Phone: The SamTrans Mobile app provides riders the convenience to purchase and activate tickets from their smartphone devices, plan trips, and get real-time schedule information. Mobile ticketing will be available for SamTrans services only and SamTrans Mobile can run on iOS and Android operating systems and will be accepting major credit and debit cards. Redwood City History Museum: Friday, Sept. 7, at the San Mateo County History Museum, there will be free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum housed the 1910 County Courthouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which features a stained glass dome and mosaic tile floor. There will also be a 2 p.m. general tour to explore the local history from the time of the original Native American residents to present day.
California Academy of Sciences Free Day: There’s nothing better than free science and the California Academy of Sciences is having its 10th Anniversary Free Day Friday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. To celebrate the occasion, the museum will be switching from quarterly free days to having biannual community free days, which means three days of free admission for all with reserved and times tickets. Bring your family and friends to experience the four-story rainforest, an aquarium, and planetarium. Free and timed tickets are required.
Return of the Cypher: The Boom Boom Room in San Francisco is hosting a free live Hip-Hop Show featuring beatboxers, emcees, and musicians collaborating in spontaneous and skillful performances. DJ Kevy Kev will also be in the building with original mixes to set the dancing vibes. This free reoccurring event is taking place Sunday, Sept. 9, and begins at 9 p.m.
Take Caltrain to the Millbrae Station then BART to 16th and Mission. From there, the Muni 22 will get you to the Boom Boom Room.
2018 Peace Rally: Rally for peace at the 2018 Peace Day Rally Sunday, Sept. 9. At noon, , bring your signs to the Civic Center Plaza to rally for peace and listen to insightful speakers.
Take Caltrain or SamTrans ECR, 398, to the Millbrae Station then BART to the Civic Center then walk 5 minutes to the plaza.
