Art on the Square: We hate to see the good times end, but the final day of Art on the Square in Redwood City is this Friday, August 24. The event features the best fine arts and crafts while showcasing original paintings, photography, jewelry and ceramics. From 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Courthouse Square will feature art, music and fun.  Take Caltrain to the Redwood City Station or take SamTrans ECR Route.

Palo Alto Festival of the Arts: This weekend, August 25 and 26, is the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. Celebrating its 37th year, the festival will feature the Italian Street Painting Expo, “Chopin and Chandeliers,” a Kids’ Art Studio, gourmet food and fine wine, and more. The festival begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.  Take Caltrain to the Palo Alto Station then 10 minute walk to the event.

Free Guided Hike of San Bruno Mountain: Get your hike on in San Bruno this weekend, Saturday, August 25, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the one and only David Schooley, founder of San Bruno Mountain Watch. Hikes meet at the Mountain Watch office at 44 Visitacion Ave., Suite 206, in Brisbane. RSVP to this free event because spaces fill quickly.

Silicon Valley Pride Festival and Parade: Show your pride at the 43rd annual Silicon Valley Pride Festival and Parade. Celebrate diversity and community Saturday, August 25, from 4:30 p.m. at the Trans and Friends rally, and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Fantasy Night Festival. Sunday, August 26, celebrate the parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., then the Day festival from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. Have a gay old time!  Take Caltrain to the San Jose Diridon Station then VTA Route 902.
