COMMONS BLOCK PARTY: The San Francisco Civic Center hosts the “Commons Block Party” on Thursday, July 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be three stages of live music, curated by Noise Pop. There will also be food trucks, bars, a bocce ball and other activities. This is a reoccurring event held once a month through October, so you will have many chances to experience the fun!

Take Caltrain to the Millbrae Station, then BART to the Civic Center Station. Finally walk five minutes to the festival.

SUMMERFEST: The Menlo Park Summerfest is Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22, on Santa Cruz Avenue in the downtown. The weekend of action will include specialty food purveyors, home and garden exhibits, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, and fun for the kids. There will also be a celebration of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, through an electrifying 14-piece tribute. Don’t miss this weekend event.

SamTrans  ECR Route or Caltrain to the Menlo Park Station will take you right to the downtown. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

FREE OPERA: Courthouse Square in Redwood City is hosting a free opera concert in the park. On Saturday, July 22, at 6 p.m., you can enjoy the free, world renowned, Classical music series. The series features groups such as the Redwood City Symphony, Opera San Jose and the Bay Shore Lyric Opera.

You can take Caltrain to the Redwood City Station and walk about five minutes to the event. SamTrans lines like the 274, 276 and ECR will also get you to the transit center.
