YERBA BUENA GARDENS FESTIVAL: On Thursday, July 12, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., you can attend the Maikaze Daiko: Yerba Buena Gardens Festival held in the Yerba Buena Gardens. The Maikaze Daiko art scene was founded to preserve and promote the art of modern Taiko and Kumi-Daiko. To share the history, there will be music, dance, theater, cultural events and educational children’s programs.
Take Caltrain toward San Francisco to the Millbrae Station, then board BART and hop on the Richmond bound train. Get off at the Powell Street Station. From there, it is about a five minute walk to the event.
JEWELRY on the SQUARE: The Redwood City Courthouse will be the site of Jewelry on the Square, an art showcase featuring the best in fine arts and crafts on Fridays through Aug. 24 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Jewelry on the Square will feature original paintings, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics and more.
Take Caltrain to the Redwood City Station and walk about two minutes to the event. Get on SamTrans route ECR to the transit center as well.
EXPLORATORIUM FOR FREE: Friday, July 13, is Exploratorium Community Free Night at the San Francisco Exploratorium. The Exploratorium features hundreds of exhibits of science, art, and human perception, full of learning and eye-openings experiences. Join the fun from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Take Caltrain to the Millbrae Station or SamTrans route ECR toward Daly City BART and get off at El Camino and Linden stop, then ride BART and get off at the Embarcadero Station. Walk about 15 minutes to the Exploratorium.
