The San Francisco Giants’ pitchers and catchers reported to Spring Training this week, and Caltrain is already throwing warmup tosses of its own in preparation for the 2018 baseball season.
Caltrain was in attendance for KNBR SF Giants FanFest this past Saturday at AT&T Park. In addition to getting a first look at the team’s new stars and tossing some sweet swag to fans, our intrepid crew was there to officially launch Caltrain Mobile, the rail agency’s new mobile ticketing application.
The app, which is ideal for occasional riders like Giants fans, allows riders to purchase and activate tickets from their smart phone devices instead of visiting ticketing machines before boarding at stations. The app offers One-Way, Day Pass and Zone Upgrade digital tickets for adults and passengers who qualify for discounted fare.
Caltrain Mobile can run on iOS and Android operating systems and accepts PayPal and major credit and debit cards. It can be downloaded now from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Fans of the Orange and Black can begin pre-season preparation of their own by familiarizing themselves with all the special Caltrain services set to be offered to fans this season. Caltrain is the best way to get to AT&T Park from the South Bay and Peninsula. With the San Francisco Caltrain Station located one block from the ballpark, fans arrive safe and energized to cheer on their Giants during their 60th season in The City by The Bay.
