Summer of Love at the de Young Museum: Join in this Friday, August 18, for the final Friday Night of the season with the ongoing commemoration of the special exhibition at the deYoung Museum, “Summer of Love Experience: Art, Fashion, and Rock & Roll”, which closes on August 20. There will be a film screening, DJ set, mixed-media art-making stations, panel discussions, lectures and exhibition tours. This exhibition will be exhilarating filled with iconic rock posters, photographs, interactive music and light shows, costumes, and more. The 50th anniversary celebration of the adventurous and colorful counterculture is legendary. Over 300 significant cultural artifacts of the time will be shown as San Francisco’s social and aesthetic movement. Get your tickets before the exhibition closes after the summer. Take Caltrain to the last stop in San Francisco at 4th and King Station, hop onto SFMTA 47 then transfer over to 5R at McAllister Street & Van Ness Avenue, and a short walk towards the museum.
San Jose Bike Party Hosts the Steampunk Ride: San Jose Bike Party is a place to ride bikes, make friends, and have a good time every third Friday of each month at 8 p.m. The next event will be held on August 18. If you’re into riding bikes with style, join the SJ Bike Party for their themed ride: steampunk edition! Their location and route details will be released within 24 hours of the event, so be sure to check back on their website. You can take Caltrain to San Jose Diridon Station as you’ll reach downtown San Jose where the routes will take place.
Menlo Park’s Summer Block Party 2017: Come join the Menlo Park community at the 11th Annual Downtown Block Party, sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. On August 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Santa Cruz Avenue, enjoy summer, food, and fun as the streets fill with your community members participating in games, watching a movie on the Paseo, exploring, and dining. Santa Cruz Avenue will be closed to traffic to create ample pedestrian space, so bring the entire family! The block party is just down the street from the Menlo Park Caltrain Station. You can also bike there if you’re interested in our bike polls for the new electric trains at the block party.
Outreach for Bike Polls on New Electric Trains: Caltrain is upgrading its overall bike capacity with the new electric trains, so your input is important to help with the design of the new bike cars. Caltrain is taking a poll for which option you’d like to see on the new trains. The poll closes at midnight on September 1, so be sure to check back for the results. If you’d like to see the new bike options and test it out for yourself in person then join us at our station outreaches:
