Bead & Design:  If you like fabrics, textiles and yes, beads, then the Santa Clara Bead & Design Show is your destination this weekend. With more than 200 artisan exhibits, visitors can see expertly crafted jewelry, metalwork and tooled leather, as well as take part in over 75 workshops on how to make your own. The show will run from Friday, March 24, to Sunday, March 26, at the Santa Clara Marriott, and can be easily accessed by taking the VTA 60 from the Santa Clara Transit Center.

BART to Warm Springs:  On Friday, March 24, the Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station is having a celebratory event for its opening. Saturday, March 25, marks the beginning of BART service to the new Warm Springs Extension in South Fremont, and is the next step in connecting BART to Silicon Valley.

San Mateo Women’s History: Saturday, March 25, the San Mateo County History Museum is offering a glimpse at the lives of local women during World War II. At 1 p.m., they’ll present a play highlighting the experiences of real Peninsula women during wartime. Held at the Old Courthouse in Redwood City, this event will be fun and educational for the whole family and is just a short walk from the Redwood City Caltrain Station.
