Antiques in San Mateo:  The San Mateo Event Center will be hosting the Hillsborough Antiques + Art + Design show from March 10-12. Come check out more than 200 exhibitors from around the world as they display fine antiques and decorative arts from a range of design movements. Proceeds go to benefit United Veterans Services, so either catch Caltrain to the Hayward Park and take a stroll, or take the SamTrans ECR so you can learn the difference between Art Deco and De Stijl.

Cable Car Documentary: The Cable Car is a San Francisco icon on par with the Golden Gate Bridge. What better place to see a documentary about them than the also-iconic Balboa Theatre? Playing from March 17-23, you can reach this destination by taking Caltrain up to BART, getting off at the Embarcadero and catching MUNI’s 31AX. Remember to not leave your heart there, as the lost and found is often deluged with them.

Recognition for Santa Clara County:  If you’re a big fan of both Santa Clara County and history, the stars have aligned for you. SPUR is hosting a discussion of an upcoming initiative to designate Santa Clara County as the first National Heritage Area in California. Just a short walk from the San Jose Diridon Station, come learn about our local history and make sure it gets the recognition it deserves.
