San Francisco Mardi Gras:  Just because you aren’t in New Orleans, doesn’t mean you can’t live it up for Mardi Gras. The good people at Carnaval San Francisco are holding their Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Celebration on Tuesday, February 28, in five locations throughout the Mission District: Balancoire, the Make Out Room, the Latin American Club, Bissap Baobab, and Cha Cha Cha. Take Caltrain to Millbrae, hop onto the BART, and laissez les bons temps rouler!

High Anxiety: Do you have a case of the Mondays? Is the end of the weekend filling you with ennui? Did you lose a lot of money in the office Oscar pool because you bet it all on La La Land? Then the only reasonable solution is in the hands of comedy legend and EGOT recipient Mel Brooks. Take Caltrain to BART, get off at 16th Street and head to the Roxie to see his High Anxiety, a brilliant send-up of the works of Alfred Hitchcock that was filmed in San Francisco 40 years ago. Tickets are still on sale for tonight, February 27, at 8 p.m.

SamTrans, Caltrain, and the SMCTA, oh my!:  If you like transit board meetings (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) then this week is for you. Wednesday, March 1, at 2 p.m., the SamTrans Board of Directors will meet on the second floor of San Mateo County Transit Building at 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos (just a quick walk from the San Carlos Caltrain Station). Then Thursday, March 2, we have a double-header, with the Caltrain Board of Directors meeting at 10 a.m. and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority Board meeting at 5 p.m. I’ll see you there!
