Art & craft enthusiasts can take Caltrain or SamTrans to the 2016 Harvest Festival this week. The festival will be held at the San Mateo County Event Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 11 and 12, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 13.
The event center, at 2495 S. Delaware St., is a short walk from the Hayward Park Caltrain Station. Caltrain’s weekday and weekend schedule offers regular service to the station. SamTrans’ Routes ECR and Route 292 have bus stops near the event center.
The Harvest Festival has been held for 44 years in various locations throughout California. This year’s festival in San Mateo will feature over 250 artisans, specializing in clothing, jewelry, specialty foods, toys, holiday decor and more. Patrons can listen to live music and entertainment, enjoy festival foods and visit a hands-on KidZone where kids can decorate gingerbread cookies.
Caltrain passengers can receive a $2 discount for the event by downloading a coupon here.

###
About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain has enjoyed more than four years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 60,000 average weekday riders earlier this year. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad is celebrating 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor, reducing diesel emissions 84 percent by 2040 and adding more service to more stations.
