What: Caltrain’s annual Holiday Train will ride again on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6. Decorated with 70,000 glittering lights, the dazzling show-train will visit nine Caltrain stations between San Francisco and Santa Clara over the two nights, providing holiday entertainment and collecting donations of toys for local children who otherwise might not receive a gift during the holidays.
Prior to the event, Caltrain is inviting the media to catch a glimpse of the train at the San Francisco Caltrain Station. Starting at 5 a.m. on Friday, December 4, the train will be on display, alongside players from Salvation Army Band and costumed characters like Frosty the Snowman and Mrs. Claus.
The sparking train and the yuletide performers provide a heartwarming backdrop for media crews making their early-morning broadcasts and reports. Media members interested in attending should notify Will Reisman by emailing him at email@example.com.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain has enjoyed five years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 60,000 average weekday riders earlier this year. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
